This last week has been pretty good for me. My husband was finally offered a job at my program so he will no longer get beaten up at work. I decided to try and start spinning my own yarn, which turned out pretty well for my first time. I am also on track for finishing my current custom order, which is great, I am almost done with Mini Monkey #3 and by next week I should be about half way done with a Big Monkey. I also discovered another awesome yarn shop in Portland and I found an authentic Korean grocery store where I was able to find some of my favorite Korean foods that I haven’t had since I left Korea.
My first attempt at spinning my own yarn using a homemade drop spindle:
| Wool |
| Parts for the spindle |

| Finished Spindle |
| Its Yarn! |
| Knit up yarn |
| Close Up |
| With a Crochet Border |

| Finished Product |
The finished yarn wasn't perfect, but I think it was good for a first try. I think I'm hooked. Now I want a proper spindle, some dyes and bags of roving.
Food I’ve made:
I made these wings for the recent Oregon Ducks game and they weren’t spicy, but they were delicious! I believe I posted the recipe last week.
